The most poignant evolution in the art of George Lewis is his growing interest in depicting the human form. This is exemplified in collaboration with the English National Ballet as well as in his recent collections, Illuminated Humanism and Gods & Goddesses, where among other things he investigates body fascism and the human need to worship as well as the desire to compare and measure one body up against another. Currently Lewis is collaborating on a number of projects with the English National Ballet and its artists, where he is exploring many of these ideas at close quarters.

Lewis is increasingly incorporating the use of photography and computer-based technology in image manipulation and printing. He is also working with new materials such as light boxes and holograms, as well as various substrates, including glass, perspex and metal.

Lewis's awakening to the possibilities of the medium of conceptual art and multimedia art installation is marked by his gradual recognition that his work is beginning to be increasingly driven by ideas and a desire to communicate his vision of the world. His new body of work represents a transitory stage focusing on the synthesis of representational and conceptual art, typified by his depictions of the human body and the environment in a wide range of artistic media.
